New workshop/training on the new BPI 1200 standard

The BPI 1200 Standard-Stepping up to the new standard

A lot has changed since BPI published a field guide for weatherization technicians in 1998. All of BPI’s standards have evolved to be internationally recognized and BPI has evolved into an ANSI development Organization, overseeing a formal consensus based standards process.

The current 1200 standard is essentially a “how to guide” for completing all inspections and diagnostic testing to analyze residential homes.

This workshop focuses in detail on comparing to older publications, new testing procedures and required equipment for testing. All participants will receive a voucher toward a digital readout combustible gas leak detector and free shipping.

Topics covered will include:

– General Requirements for the BPI 1200 standard
– Health and Safety Related Requirements
– Prioritizing Recommendations
– Combustion Appliance and Fuel Distribution System Inspection (the new gas leak detection equipment- process)
– Indoor Air Quality and Ventilation and the new ASHRAE 62.2 standard now being used.
– Building Enclosure Performance
– Heating and Cooling (HVAC) and Domestic Water Heating Performance and Efficiency (new combustion safety testing)
– Baseload Energy Efficiency and Water Conservation

The flyer for the training is posted at the BPTC homepage.
